North Shore Hospice Vintners Brunch - Sunday 26th July 2009

The North Shore Hospice Vintners Brunch, held yesterday at the Sky City Grand Hotel, is a fantastic annual event where 450 guests are treated to exquisite food offered by some of Auckland’s best restaurants matched with wine from some of New Zealand’s best vineyards. This year, Goldwater was paired with O’Connell St Bistro. O’Connell St Bistro served up Chateaubriand, dauphinoise potatoes, watercress & béarnaise. We matched this with our Goldwater Goldie Waiheke Island Cabernet Merlot 2005.

For the restaurants and wineries, the day is all about the fiercely contested “Best food and wine match” award. The guests all voted for their favourite wine & food match – not their best dish, their best food and wine match.

This is Goldwater's 5^th year of inclusion at this great event and we are very proud that O’Connell St Bistro and Goldwater won 1^st prize in this coveted “Best food & wine match” competition.
